Character.ai Files for Bankruptcy, Will Shut Down Without Buyer

Character.ai filed for bankruptcy after falling from a $2.7 billion Google deal. The chatbot service, once used by more than 20 million people, will shut down at the end of 2026 if no buyer emerges.
