Frontier AI Models Now Solve 35 Percent of Hard Theory Problems

An MIT study by Neil Thompson's lab finds frontier OpenAI models jumped from solving 2 percent to 35 percent of theoretical problems in six fields between mid-2024 and mid-2026.
